Completed another Combat Mission: Afrika Korps scenario via Pbem with John in New Jersey and a close run thing it was too, ending fittingly in a draw.
Scenario set in Tunisia 1943 with both sides trying to take a central hill.
British (moi) had several Shermans and about a Battalion of infantry, the Huns had a bunch of PzIVf2 and similar amount of foot sloggers.
Hard to believe that I have been playing this title since 2003 and that it still runs on current PC
Nice game! These are really cheap on Steam - I must pick up copies. They have a more recent (and more expensive) cold war version too. What was the old one that was like squad leader, and used hexes , and had eastern and western front versions? ..was it 'Western Front by Talonsoft'
ReplyDeleteWestern Front, Eastern Front and Rising Sun collectively The Campaign Series (originally Talonsoft) and more like PanzerBlitz/Leader than SL (units are Platoons). There are several new Combat Mission titles but different engines I think and no idea as to how they play. There were a ton of graphics mods for CM titles but likely lost to mists of time...............
