Played a quick solo game with Colonial Twilight the COIN game on French-Algerian War
Been a while since I have had a boardgame on table and great fun it was even on lonesome
I played the mid-war scenario and French were in ascendancy early on but FLN later got a grip on territories around the cities and ended up gaining control of Algiers itself and winning on third Propaganda card.

Splendid to see a proper COIN board game back on the tabletop! Colonial Twilight is a brilliant two-player design, and it sounds like an absolute nail-biter of a solo session. The FLN snatching control of Algiers right on the third Propaganda card makes for a proper cinematic ending!

Having only the two sides makes it much faster playing than say Fire In Lake. Losses to French Army units was key as could not get them out of casualties before Algiers fell giving FLN winning margin
DeleteAh, that makes total sense—having just the two factions really streamlines the tempo compared to the four-player behemoths like Fire in the Lake! Trapped French casualties crippling your deployment right as Algiers fell sounds like a brutal strategic bottleneck, but what a fantastic, tight historical narrative it produced.
