Using iPad app to publish this post so not sure how it will turn out
Postscript: bit limited compared to PC version re pics etc but easy to fix
Overall view of the game
Horrendous Ivan casualties but they held out overall to thwart the Nazis.
Historical Wargaming using Miniatures, PC & Board Games as played by Sgt Steiner
Game sound good Sgt S, I like the way your page images overlap your post images.
ReplyDeleteHmmm trying to hang of iPad app but not as easy as on PC can't seem to move pics were I want
ReplyDeleteLooks like a gret game.
ReplyDeleteNice. Very tempted to buy it.
ReplyDeleteLooks good, I assume no good for solo play due to the cards?

Pics look fine - how are the game mechanics?
ReplyDeleteGame play is quick and straightforward (only 6 pages of rules) Impulse based like Storm Over Arnhem and you either Move or fire and activated units then spent for rest of turn. Cards are mainly tactical assets types (Artillery or Aircraft strikes, Minefields) with a couple of more event based types. Not ideal for solo but doable. Sniper cards act like trump cards cancelling all others but if sniper played in response to enemy sniper you perform a sniper duel (dice roll off with Ivans winning equal or higher). Other cards like Overrun allow extra actions or Rubble/Mines reactive actions in enemy impulse. Six turns easily played in 30mins each so 3 or so hours game time overall (maybe another 30mins setup time)
ReplyDeleteOK Sgt, you are really starting to get me interested in these board game things!!!
ReplyDeleteThere are some excellent games out there pretty much something to suit all tastes :-)
ReplyDeleteIf you want more specific info on any I have give me a shout sgt.steiner@virgin.net or do what I do and check them out on BoardGameGeek ( prepare to lose hours on there though !)
A pretty decisive win for the Reds - I'm not sure we would play the game enough to get into the bidding areas for victory to determine the sides. The last game I played went down to the last turn, with me as the Reds losing the last victory area on the last impulse of the game - arghhh!
