Played a game of Panzer Leader, which was my first ever board wargame, last evening with my Dad.
Hard to believe this was out in 1974 !!!!
We played a scenario from one the General Magazines based around actions near Arracourt in September 1944.
A really fun time we had to with a game that has a low rules overhead (interesting to see that it was rated fairly high complexity back in the day) and easy game system.
Lots of abstractions in the game but do you know what ?
It was just such fun to play these were easy to overlook.
Only one pic as we got so engrossed (note a home made duplicate Board D on right)

ReplyDeleteHi Guys
This is the last report on this game. We finished turn 7 through 9. We didn’t start turn 10 because the Germans couldn’t get to board 4 the last hill. As you can see there is a lot carnage at the top of the hill. German and Polish forces are at a standstill. The Germans lost a lot of tanks and the Poles trucks. If you go back to the last report you can see there was a lot of Polish tanks in the woods that knocked out the German tanks and when the German infantry came up indirect fire got them.
If you look at what’s left of both sides , not much.
John and I had fun with it and am going on to the Napoleonic war’s in Russia.
