Solo Battle Command Seven Years War

No game with Stephen this week again so decided to set up a SYW game with my 15mm Prussians and Russians and was a toss up between FOB3, Battle Command and Black Powder but opted for Bat Cmd.

No specific scenario but used a random pick from the Seasons Of Battle cards from FOB3 and the older FOB2 scenario generation system (can influence Strength, Deployment, Tactical Adjustment and Reconnaissance).

This yielded a rather densely wooded map and with Prussians gaining advantage in deployment (extra set up zones).

Not a great field for all the cavalry or indeed artillery but has allowed foot to advance pretty much unmolested in early stages.

Basis for battlefield

Initial deployments with Russians in foreground. Note forward deployment of several Prussian units 

Prussian cavalry on their right wing supporting Grenadiers near town

Prussian center with Cavalry Brigade in reserve

Prussian left wing deployed well forward along stream

Numerous but weak Russian mounted on right wing backed by gun line in only real open area

Russian foot flood the central area

And spread out to their left (Russians have superior numbers of foot)

More weak Russian horse on the left

Woods dominate central sectors

More open on Prussian side of stream
