Warfare 2019

Attended Warfare show in Reading this weekend with my muckers the two Mr Bs and Mr P (after meeting up with them on Friday evening once my young lad had dropped me off).

Been a whopping 6 years since I attended Warfare (or any show for that matter) so was like the proverbial kid on Christmas morning !

Venue changing next year to Ascot which will reportedly be bigger and better but a tad more awkward for us Ulster folk to attend I fear (car hire in lieu of train from Gatwick maybe viable method ?).

Trading area seemed busy especially on Saturday and I know we spent a combined total around £1000.

Was very nice to meet and briefly chat with Postie, Ray and the Lesser Big Lee from 'Posties Rejects' on Saturday, an amiable trio of chaps indeed.

Lots of pics but cannot remember details of several

Part of trader area on day 1

Demo game with To The Strongest

Competition area day 1 (think those are Lord Of Rings game table in foreground)

Solferino in 6mm with Bloody Big Battles on day 2

Eastern Front game in 28mm with Bolt Action (BA seemed very popular including in competition seemingly replacing Flames of War)

Caratacus demo using Advanced Guard rules (some very nice figures)

Zulu Wars (entitled Lawkes Drift ?) demo game

Very nice Wild West in winter game with lots of interior detail in buildings (note saloon in lower right with innards exposed)

Nice set up for a game set in Angola 1978 using Battlefront WWII rules

Kalistra hexes being used for medieval battle of Mohn 1241 (?)

Warfare In Age Of Reason rules for a 15mm battle (forget the name Warburg maybe ?)

Another Bolt Action Bulge demo with very nice 1/56th units including Panthers disguised as M10s.

Bolt Action once more utilizing a Rapid Fire Market Garden scenario

A fantasy demo game I think

Some pics from trading area on day 2

MEG competition 15mm Biblical period

Compulsory 'Loot' pics mostly terrain pieces, MDF and several painted Napoleonic units

And stolen from 'Don't Throw A One' blog

Big-not any more Lee and Ray with little old me as sandwich filling.
Postie off spending/networking I expect.

  1. Good to meet you on Saturday (always good to put a face to a blog!). Interested to see some different demo games on the Sunday, it never occurred to me that the demo's could change on each day...clearly i'm not used to two day shows!

  2. Demos put on by various Clubs it seems so some can only attend one day like your goodselves.
